which FEM tool is best for analyzing axial behavior of rock socketed piles?
I am planning to do some study about the calculations of bearing capacity of rock socketed piles, especially the shor ones. There are two possible approaches to predict tip bearing capacity of short piles embedded into roch medium, that is,as piers (shallow foundations ) or as piles(deep foundations).
Can I employ Ansys or Marc to do this analysis? or other FEM tool should be considered?
Thanks.
