(OP)
Hi guys!
I´m new in this forum, I´m an spanish mechanical engineer and I have a tough question for all of you to solve....
I need to calculate the stresses transmited to a vertical pipe by a welded flange. This flange is loaded with a vertical force(weight) and fixed in two diametral opposite points, and I wonder what are the equivalent stresses induced by this load in the pipe. I think that it can't be equivalent to a uniform moment because the parts of the pipe close to the fixed points in the flange are more stressed than the rest of it. Do you know how can I calculate this load in the pipe or maybe some procedure I can look for? Thank you very much for your help.
Ana
