Ford VSS signal?

Ford VSS signal?

Ford VSS signal?

(OP)
Im installing a 97 obd2 460 into a 73 pickup. The problem Im having Is the VSS signal. It has an 4407 transfer case with no speedo drive. What I was going to do is change the transfer to a 1356 and run a VSS with a cable drive through that Ford used 86 to 91 but I was told that the VSS signal was diffrent after 91 and this set up would not work. My question is does any make a cable or gear driven VSS that will work with the newer Ford P.C.M. Or can the signal of the older VSS be made to work with the newer P.C.M.?
Thank you for any help Leadmic

RE: Ford VSS signal?

get the original vss sender, and see if you can plug it into your new equipment. is there anyway to fit the obd2 vss sensor into your existing vehicle?

no vss signal will affect the system to some extent, but it wont ruin your driveability.
