Extruding Text?

Extruding Text?

Extruding Text?

(OP)
Hello,

My name is Ryan and I am using MDT v4.  I am trying to figure out how to place text on parts to help identify them in complex assemblies.  I know in PROE you can create a sketch profile of text and then extrude/cut it a very small depth to create the illusion of an engraving.  Is there any way to simulate part engraving in MDT?

Thank You.

RE: Extruding Text?

You can do the exact same thing in version 6. I am not sure about 4. Simply right click in the model space window and select Sketch Solving....Text Sketch. It will bring up a dialog box for what text and font you want. Type it in. When you press enter it will ask you to drag a box for the size of the text. Once you do that an object is created in the tree. You can then treat it like any other and extrude it, etc...
