What is the make up on 1/2 inch thru 4 inch benders

RE: Pipe Bending

           I am not really sure what you mean by "Make-Up".
I assume that you meant "Take Up", which is the amount of conduit that a 90 degree Radius will take from your measurement to your termination.
So here is the Take up using a hand bender. Mark your measurement on the conduit and then subtract the following amounts and put the arrow on the subtracted mark and beennnnd!!!!!;
EMT  1/2" is 5"
     3/4" is 6"
       1" is 8"
GRC  1/2" is 6" using a 3/4' EMT Bender
     3/4" is 8" using a   1" EMT Bender
These measurements are all cast onto the bender head.
Anything larger than 1" EMT or 3/4" GRC I would advise you to use a Hydraulic bender, even though 1 1/4" EMT and 1" GRC can be bent using a hand bender, it is very difficult to say the least. There should be a manual with the Hydrualic Bender to instruct you on proper take up, if there is no manual then you should leave the bending to someone who is experienced with the tool.
One small tip using a hand bender, Bend with your foot and use the handle for leverage. If you dont keep the bender head foot peg pressed into the bend then your radius will grow and you'll end up long on your stub.
Also there are a number of books and booklets available. In fact there is a thread in this very catagory and few spaces down from your Question that I think you'll find very helpful.    Good luck   JTapia
PS if take up is not what you meant...........nevermind  LOL
