copying features

(OP)
Is there a way to copy a group of features from one plane (or surface) to another, preferably keeping the copied features linked to their parents?  Due to the part's random and asymmtetric geometry, it doesn't seem to be a good candidate for mirrored or patterned features.

RE: copying features

I have successfully used sketch-driven patterns to copy sets of features onto other faces (stops on hinge knuckles).  You can use 2D or 3D sketches for this.  I could send an example, if you wish.

When using sketch-driven patterns, I find it best to specify the reference point, instead of using the default centroid.

You may contact me at the email address in my profile.

but remember your way in is also my way out

RE: copying features

You can copy and paste the sketches, but not the features themselves. They won't be children of that sketch but you could link the Dimensions together which would give the effect of a parent/child. So that way if you change the original sketch the other sketch will change to.

RE: copying features

Have you tried using patterns?
