Drawing bent rails in SW2003
(OP)
Dear Folks;
I am modelling a diamond crossing for a railroad application. These consist of many bent rails and straight rails with holes drilled through the web to join them together.
My problem lies in the best way to model the bent rails. Presently I profile the the rail cross section and sweep it along the bent path. The path is basically a "C" shape made of 3 straight lines joined one after the other. Its important for one of the drilled holes to be located right in the center of the "C" shape. How do I accurately locate this center ?
I can locate the hole referencing an arbitrary point such as the line formed by the inside bend in the rail. But I would prefer to use the centerpoint of the straight line of the sweep path used in the center of the "C"
Does anyone have any suggestions ?
Best Regards
Adrian D
