showing different positions in Scenes

(OP)
What is the best way to show different positions in a Scene? For example, I have an external sub-assembly file within a bigger assembly file and I would like to move individual components of the external sub-assembly.  The only thing I know to do is to save the sub-assembly file with a new name, move the components to another position, and then insert the external sub-assembly into the bigger assembly file.  Thanks,  Aaron16

RE: showing different positions in Scenes

You are right - these are tho only ways to to it but you should look at MDT 6 new features. This might be changed now.
