Converting AutoCad 2000 to AutoCad14

Converting AutoCad 2000 to AutoCad14

(OP)
I have about 700 autocad2000 drawings and I need to save them as Autocad 14 drawings, so the rest of the engineering staff can review the drawings.

What I need help with is I would like to write a VB app that when Open I can select a directory of drawings. once the directory is open when a button is pressed it opens autocad2000.Then when a convert button is pressed it saves the drawings in that directory as autocad 14.

RE: Converting AutoCad 2000 to AutoCad14

You could write a script to SAVEASR14 in Autocad.

RE: Converting AutoCad 2000 to AutoCad14

Wouldn't it be easier to get a copy of VOLO View Express to the rest of the staff?

RE: Converting AutoCad 2000 to AutoCad14

Hi,

search for "Aha!CAD Converter" on http://www.caddepot.com/ .
I didn't test it by myself...

RE: Converting AutoCad 2000 to AutoCad14

Not sure about this but firstly I would set-up your AutoCad to save all future drawings and current drawings in AutoCAD 14 format by selecting the options button when doing a saveas.  Once thats done just write a simple script to open all of your drawings and do a saveas.
