BUG ALERT--exporting to parasolid
BUG ALERT--exporting to parasolid
(OP)
I have found a serious bug in SW2003 SP1.0. I will be notifying SW.
We had exported a set of SW files to parasolid. Each of these files contained a surface model that was suppressed and a solid model that was not.
The translation had exported the suppressed bodies without notification. The result was that our tool vendor almost built tools to the wrong body.
I have been forced to select individual bodies prior to export, even if extra bodies are suppressed.

Sanity! You're a madman!

Just tried exporting and then reimporting a part with solids and suppressed surfaces and it seemed to work fine.

I was lucky to find out when I did. We had sent our tooling vendor an updated model, and when he reviewed the changes, it turned out that he would have built to the wrong model!

But, what will he get in "trade". That is the question.

RE: BUG ALERT--exporting to parasolid
I don't work much with surfaces, but does it matter if you save as parasolid .x_t format or parasolid binary .x_b format? Do the suppressed surfaces still get exported?
