Why?

RE: airbag system

(OP)
it's for a project that i've been doing. i have to design the ram for airbag..hence..it would be much appreciated if i could get the source codes.

RE: airbag system

It depends on who you are designing it for!  Ford has/had an old proprietary communication protocol between devices.  Therefore, all information needed to be converted to this format unless the device could talk "Ford".

From my experience, I really didn't need to have the engine control software to successfully design the hardware, i.e. pick components.  However, it was essential that I communicated all of my design with my customer, including any assumptions and / or hardware limitations!

RE: airbag system

have a client that has requested that I develope an airbag system for his helicopter.  The purpose is to reduce the potential for cyclic headstrike injuries during a crash.

Are there any other helicopter owner opperators out there that think this would be a useful addition to helicopters?

Are there any engineers with any comments about this?  I am wanting to develope a simple system based on a 3 axis accelerometer and automotive style glare shield mounted airbag.

Obviously, this system will need to be FAA approved on a no hazard basis and it must function correctly.
