Phenolic versus Nylon

Phenolic versus Nylon

Phenolic versus Nylon

(OP)
I am trying to specify a durable non-conductive spacer/mount for a printed circuit board that sees a lot of vibration and shock.  The spacer will need to have internal threads (female).  I can easily get them in Nylon or Phenolic.  Which would you use for the longest life?

RE: Phenolic versus Nylon

Nylon will be a lot tougher than the phenolic, but lacks heat deflection, flex mod and creep,if these are issues.

I cannot say from the info you supplied, but my best guess would be nylon, possibly glass filled

pat
