(OP)
Can somebody please explain the requirements of EN 13445 with regard to impact tests and weld procedure test plates.

I get the feeling that EN 13445 is written for large carbon vessels. We make small stainless vessels and the requirements would almost certainly cripple us. It appears that we have to produce a production test plate for every circumferential weld, until we have roduced 10, and then we have to produce 10 every twelve months.

Annex B of the materials section is extremely poorly written and gives no guidance as to when impact testing is or is not required.

Anybody any ideas?
