OPC sample code for PLC read/write?

OPC sample code for PLC read/write?

(OP)
Does anyone have VB sample code on how to use OPC instead of DDE.  Please refer to the following forum topic "VB app using RSLinx on a different drive" for a sample of how I am doing DDE.

I am searching for the same answers!  If you have figured this out could you let me know on Paul.F@ICAutomation.com.au

Look up the tech note A7374 on http://www.software.rockwell.com/index.cfm
in the knowledgebase.  It gives a visual basic example that is very good and has a link to the OPC Founation where you can download the OPC Specifications.  Also look up the keyword OPC and you will get more information.

Software Toolbox (http://www.opcactivex.com/index.html) has an activeX control that makes OPC-DA simple. I recently downloaded the demo and it made my life so much easier that I will purchase the license.
