(OP)
Any suggestions for my problem? The package plant is an .0081mgd design with an average daily flow of 2500 gallons. This plant serves an elementary school. My MLSS is about 9,800 mg/l and my 30 min settlebility test of 2Liters of activated sludge is about 400. After the 5 minute mark I have a reading of 950 between the 5 and 10 min mark the solids seem unstable and my 10 min reading drops to 720. After that the solids seem
to stablize and settle more evenly. The supernatent is cloudy.I've this problem for a few months and been wasteing solids frequently. In the last year and a half my solids wasting has doubled from previous years and my MLSS doesn't seem to drop to the plants suggested operating level(2500-5000 mg\l). My ph is  between 6.5 and 7.5. My phosphorous and ammonia nitrogen is .4 and the last months CBOD is up to 4.36 ( typically it is between .5 and 2.5 mg/l) The problem area is in my effluent suspended solids I've been near my permit level or slightly above for a few months.
