SLC 5/05 - RSLinx OPC Error: Function disallowed due to command protec

SLC 5/05 - RSLinx OPC Error: Function disallowed due to command protec

SLC 5/05 - RSLinx OPC Error: Function disallowed due to command protec

(OP)
I have a system my company set up for another company, and we keep getting the following error message in RSLinx with our OPC communications:

    Items: N14:230/1, N14:230/7
    Type: READ
    Mfg: Allen-Bradley
    PlcType: SLC-503+
    Desc: Remote: DIP switch
REM: Function disallowed due to command protection selection
    Number of occurrences: 974,285

It is occuring on both reads and writes to the processor, and as you can see it occurs quite often.  If anyone has any idea what-so-ever, please help me.  I have been unable to find any information online that can tell me what to do to try to fix this problem.

Thanks,

Michael

Check J4 on the processor card, if it is in the protected mode, this might be causing your problem.

You will have to remove the CPU card from the rack to check the jumper.
