Mechanism fails to assemble - location in model tree sensitivity?

Mechanism fails to assemble - location in model tree sensitivity?

(OP)
I am having an issue assembling a component using the Mechanism functionality in Pro/E 2001. It is a straight forward pin joint that fails to connect. However, if I drag this component up in the model tree, it will assemble. The references are the same external copied geometry features in both the component and assembly references (i.e. published geometry feature copied into both models).

Could this be a limitation to the complexity of a mechanism? I am trying to assemble into a simplified rep, does this make a difference? Is this a bug?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Best regards,

Matthew Ian Loew
