Electrical Panel Labeling

Electrical Panel Labeling

(OP)
Is there a standard for properly Identifying electrical Panels in a Industrial plant enviroment?  I am interested in Panels that are for voltages below 600 VAC.

RE: Electrical Panel Labeling

Yes there is a U/L labeling proceedure for industrial control panels. U/L 508A. Also, checkout NFPA 79A for machine tool control panel construction details.

RE: Electrical Panel Labeling

My web page has interesting information on UL508A.
Go to this link:
http://www.irrigationcraft.com/ul_listing.htm

Read that page and then follow the link at the bottom of the page for a second page that includes examples of labels and links to the specific areas of the UL site where the information resides.

RE: Electrical Panel Labeling

If the question refers to NEC384-type panelboards, switchboards, {and MCCs} it is trivial to create and maintain panel schedules with a spreadsheet application.

Attach a polypropylene pageholder sleeve to the enclosure with two copies of the schedule.  Take one back to the office with marked-up changes and leave one behind until the updated schedules are returned.  [Photocopiers are great—it was a lot more work with clearprint forms and ozalid reproductions.]
