Spark arrestors

(OP)
Does anybody know the manufacturer of spark arrestors. These should be installed on a DC motor (1000 hp) in a hazardous area.

RE: Spark arrestors

Spek,
Try searching the internet under electrical spark isolation, you should get several hits and information.
Hope this helps.

Suggestion: Visit

and type Arresters: Spark under Product or Service, which will return 41 companies to choose from

RE: Spark arrestors

What do you gain by putting spark arresters on in an explosion proof area?  I was under the impression the only way you could meet explosion proof requirements on a DC motor is to use an explosion proof motor or to put in a purged/interlocked system.
I would like to know your thoughts behind the question?
