Wind Loads

(OP)
I'm trying to find a good internet course on wind loads hopefully that applies directly to the Florida Building Code.  Any suggestions

RE: Wind Loads

sdave...In my humble opinion <g>, there are not any good courses on this topic.  It is usually balled up with other coursework.  The Florida Building Code course by the Florida Engineering Society gives some treatment of it, but it is a taped course, not internet.

You might find something there.

It is a "somewhat complex" topic and there is great room for interpretation under most of the codes and their reference documents such as ASCE 7.  I once taught a short seminar on wind loads to a group of architects and engineers in South Florida.  The intent of the course was to show the differences between ASCE 7-93 and ASCE 7-95.   The questions I got indicated little true understanding of the wind loads, their derivation, and their application.
