shaftless screw conveyor

(OP)
I am looking for information on designing the flights for a shaftless screw conveyor based on the pitch, diameter, angle of incline, etc.

I have the screw torque, motor rating, product density.

Maybe there is a design guide or sample calc somewhere.

thanks.

RE: shaftless screw conveyor

Most infromation is built up the hard way by companies in the materials handling industry who make screw conveyors for a living.  They tend to hold on to their knowledge.
Sorry.

RE: shaftless screw conveyor

I did an excel spreadsheet that you can modify yourself for shaftless design. I could e-mail this to you by request.

Can you reverse engineer to develop an empirical formula based around published information on existing units?

How do I design rectangular storage vessel?

RE: shaftless screw conveyor

ag89 I have the same question about shaftless screw conveyor.Did you get the spreadsheet flakeyfoont mentioned in his reply, and if so, did it work?

RE: shaftless screw conveyor

Why would you want to design your own shaftless flights? Unless you're going into the shaftless conveyor business you're better off calling me. Greg Hyde, President, SPIRAC USA Inc. www.spirac.com
