Cam movement software?

Cam movement software?

Cam movement software?

(OP)
Are there any free software packages availabe on the web to calculate a cam shape for AutoCad given the angle of rotation between two dwell points and radii of dwell on a cam wheel?

RE: Cam movement software?

The answer is yes, but I'm afraid I don't know if I can help you beyond that.

I had a LISP routine that you could choose between a sinusoidal and a harmonic rise/fall between a starting and ending diameter and the arc angle between them.  It worked pretty slick, but I haven't used it since ACAD R12.  I may still have it sitting on a floppy disk somewhere, but it will take me a while to find it.

The point, yes one exists, so keep looking.  Have you tried Cadence Magazine?  Back during the R12 era, Cadence was only about AutoCAD and they may have this LISP routine in their archives.

RE: Cam movement software?

If you are able to calculate the cam profile coordinates (Excel would do the job) then you can create "script" in any ACAD, including LT a draw the profile.
