Is it possible to save in V18 and still open it in V16?

Is it possible to save in V18 and still open it in V16?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to create a model in unigrapgics V18, save it in V18, but save it so that I can open it in V16.

Thanks for any help.

Nick.

No. All you can do is export Parasolid (v11), and import into v16. Sorry

Name one solid modeling CAD system that can open a newer version file in an older version.  If you can, does it still maintain access to all features of the newer version.

Well, I believe Solidworks can open the newer version files. It's not really perfect but the Featureworks manager can kind of try to recognise features.

What I was hoping was, that there was a way to save or export my files..or just set a preference before starting the file so that i would be able to do my work in V18...then be able to open what i had done in V16.

As what Demco had said, I think the only way is to export it to parasolid which means making it unparametised.
