what is the best way to handle center punches on a sheetmetal part

what is the best way to handle center punches on a sheetmetal part

(OP)
I am wondering what would be the best way to handle calling out center punches on a sheetmetal part.  Right now we are just creating holes of .200 diameter on the part where there will be center punches.  This results in a drawing with hundred of tiny holes in it, and often times, it creates a very busy drawing.  To make matters worse, we actually create a note that says "cp" on every tiny little hole to denote where the centerpunch will be utilized.  There has to be a better, less tedious way.  Anybody have an idea?

There are several ways, and it's up to you. I think you can use datum points, or datum axes instead of the tiny holes for dimensioning. If the distance between punches is constant on each direction you can have just one dimension on each direction with a note like "X places", "TYP", or add a table on the drawing with all the dimensions from some established datums.

Phil14,

Use Hole Table in Advanced Menu of Drawing Menu. Many manufacturing shops prefer to choose dimesions from a table.
