Shear Strength of M20 Bolt

(OP)
Can someone tell me how to calculate the Shear strength of an M20 Bolt given the Tensile and yield strength from BS3692

RE: Shear Strength of M20 Bolt

I am not sure about BS standard and whether this would help in any case, you may check ASTM A193 where in they have given standard values expected out of a given bolt (Test with the head on) also you may check A660, where in they refer to stress rupture test. In case of nuts Refer A 194, for shear area calculation for proof load tests.
