Extruding 3D Sketches

Extruding 3D Sketches

Extruding 3D Sketches

(OP)
Hi

I was wondering whether anyone knows how to extrude a 3d sketch, or extrude a 3d curve.

Basically, I have imported a curve using a .txt file and have converted it into a pseudo-profile by converting entities into a 3d sketch. However, now I cannot extrude this profile.

If you know how to do this, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

RE: Extruding 3D Sketches

Use the 3D curve or 3D sketch curve to define a plane, make a 2D sketch on the plane, and use "Convert Entities" to copy the curve into your sketch.

This may seem cumbersome.  However, I find it useful to use this method in order to keep 3D curves available for reference in other features as needed.

On justice and on friendship, there is no price, but there are established credit limits.

Thanks!

I found another way too:

You can use the loft command instead by offsetting the 3d curves by the desired extrusion length with straight (default) guide curves.

Not sure how this would work for extrude-cut sequences, but at least it works for simple extrusions.
