what does module mean

what does module mean

(OP)
hi, im a newbie in catia and i was wondering what does the term module mean, is it the workbenches?

RE: what does module mean

Yes u are correct in addition to it

Specific modules cater different types of industries when you buy a module for sheet metal industry it will contain the products needed for the sheet metal application  similar to mold design

so each module is a collection of products where u will be accessign only the workbenches to that module

RE: what does module mean

Jay...

a 'module' is the old V4 term for a 'product' in V5.

When you buy CATIA, you either buy individual products (or modules), or you can buy a configuration of pre-packaged products (and save a couple $$$).

As a V5 user, you're right - a 'module' is kind of like a workbench. Licenses are also based on products(modules) or configurations.
