(OP)
When I am making a drawing in Autocad 2000 there are times when the scroll on my Microsoft mouse operates as a zoom (prefered). Other times it operates as a scroll (up & down). I know that I am doing something to cause this, but I can't seem to pinpoint my mistake.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
Bill Rolland

RE: zoom

Look up (mouse, Intellimouse) in AutoCAD Help. There is a complete description of the different activities you can do with the wheel.

RE: zoom

if you get the osnap menu when you press the wheel button its cause you have set mbutton pan to 0 set it back to 1 and it will function like you want it

or if you like create a button with this macro and you can toggle it off and on

mbuttonpan $M=$(-,1,$(getvar,mbuttonpan))

RE: zoom

Unfortunately I've seen this behavor also with both the 0 & 1 settings with mbuttonpan so there is a bug in Acad2k.

RE: zoom

I too have see it with mbutton pan set to 0 or 1 but normally when that happens that indicates a problem with the drivers other than that i can only say that logitechas some issues with acad had some people that they just installed MS intelli mouse software and told it it was a logitec and theirs would work this is true with the intelly mouse get the latest MS Intellimouse drivers which i believ is 3.2 or highter thats fixed most of my problems
