Problem with V5 and XP?

Problem with V5 and XP?

Problem with V5 and XP?

(OP)
My Draft Document (.dft) and Part Document (.par) files are not listed in the Open File dialog.  This problem only appeared after I installed V5 on my new Windows XP machine.

Drives and folders are displayed in the Look In drop down list, and folders and sub-folders appear in the “Name list window”, but files are not shown.  It does not matter what File type I have selected.

Typing *.* in the File name box and hitting enter twice causes the all files to display in Solid Edge Part, but not in Solid Edge Draft.  It works in Solid Edge Draft when you click View of Part and you are in the Select Model dialogue.

In a seemingly related problem, no templates appear in any of the tabs in the New dialogue when I click File, New.

Anyone else experience this issue and/or know how to fix it.  Thanks!

RE: Problem with V5 and XP?

AFAIK, SE V5 did not support XP.  An obvious solution would be to upgrade to current, but I'm guessing you don't have maintenance.  You are probably out of luck.
