I am going to buy a new PC for myself. Does anybody have any specific recommendations how to configure a nice Pentium-4 PC for 3D CAD applications (MDT in particular)? Does Intel Xeon double processor workstation make a big difference?
Any idea will be welcome.

Shall I choose ATI Radeon 9500 or Geforce4 Ti4800 video card?

RE: PC for 3D CAD

I am not totally sold on the Dual Xeons (we are running two stations with them). We run Unigraphics and AutoCAD on them. It makes a "great" improvement with Unigraphics but only a "good" improvement with AutoCAD. I do not think that the AutoCAD code is totally optimized for Duals yet. We are running Quadro4 XGL's for video and like them for both ACAD and UG.
