Inserting images into the a autocad drawing.

Is there any way to lock the image to the background.

I send it to the back by tools--->send to back but it creeps to the front when i zoom or move it.

RE: locking images to background

I have this problem every now and then, too.  I usually set the TRANSPARENCY command to ON for each image.  It works pretty good for me, but I still need to regen alot.

RE: locking images to background

I have used several images as background references in AutoCAD 14 thru 2000.  Usually I place the Image before starting the drawing.  Type IMAGEFRAME in the command line and set it to OFF.  This locks the image in the backround and helps keep in from being selected.

Hi,

All new and edited objects are on top. I don’t know any ways to change this.
Maybe this macro is a tiny little help (You need still one command):
^C^C_draworder;\;;
I hope of better ideas, also…

RE: locking images to background

Sending the object to the back is one way - but still has it down falls. The best way to do it is to set the transparency of the image to ON.

To do this you can do the following:
1. Reference toolbar:
2. Modify menu: Object  Image  Transparency
3. Shortcut menu: Select an image (image frame needs to be on), right-click in the drawing area, and choose Image  Transparency.
4. Command line: transparency
Select image(s):
Enter transparency mode [On/Off] <current>:  Enter an option or press ENTER

On
Turns transparency on so that objects beneath the image are visible.

Off
Turns transparency off so that objects beneath the image are not visible.

Hope this helps. I have this to be the best option for me,
