Thread Stripping Areas

(OP)
I have looked in several reference sources without help. Can anyone point me to a resource that has thread stripping areas for internal / external threads (UNC or UN) or provide the formula for it's calculation.

RE: Thread Stripping Areas

John Bickford has written some very good info on this.

Several factors are involved here, including the thread fit class, and if the thread of interest is male or female (the female threads are ~1.4 times more area).

RE: Thread Stripping Areas

Hi PMarinshaw

Try the Machinery's Handbook it as some good info on thread
stripping area's.
