TEXT ISLAND BOUNDARY

TEXT ISLAND BOUNDARY

TEXT ISLAND BOUNDARY

(OP)
IS THERE A WAY TO CREATE A BOUNDARY AROUND TEXT TO BLOCK OUT WHATEVER IS BEHIND THE TEXT, (i.e. LINES, etc.).  IT WOULD CLOSELY RESEMBLE WHAT THE ISLAND IN HATCH DOES.
THANKS

RE: TEXT ISLAND BOUNDARY

What version of autocad are you using ?
if your using Acad 2000/2000i use the express tool text mask this creates a small box behind the text using a wipe out and will do exactly as you say you are wanting

now if you are using R14 based products you would need the bonus tools same tool name

RE: TEXT ISLAND BOUNDARY

I am trying to do somethig similar because I have a dark area w/ text on top of it, but i don't want a box around the text. i want the white text to show on top of the black area. is there any way to do this? right now i am turning text into outlines and then hatching around them to produce the effect. Any hints would be greatly appreciated!!!!
