Does anyone know of a good way to estimate the resultant force on a landing gear strut caused by the spin-up of the wheel?  I have looked at FAR 23, appendix D, but the formula requires data aquired from drop tests - something that can't be done in my case - too expensive.  Anybody know of a good way to estimate?

The reference to 23.725 is only to define the terms used in the formula in appendix D.  The answer can be determined by analysis.

You do not have to complete a free drop test to show compliance with 23.723.  It is an option.  You can show compliance with 23.732 by any means acceptable to the FAA.
