backgroud jpeg?

backgroud jpeg?

backgroud jpeg?

(OP)
Hey,

I was wondering if, in pro/e, their is anyway to set the background of a sketch as a .jpeg or someother file. I've got a shape that I've tried copying by miking and measuring angles/location of arcs; but can't do it with any accuracy. I know that in rhinoceros I can make a background .jpeg and then draw over it. Thanks

RE: backgroud jpeg?

Make a flat surface feature, the same size as the jpeg (or at least the same aspect ratio), then select Color/Appearnace and add a color and texture to this surface. The texture can be the jpeg of the sketch.

Make sure that the surface is parallel to the screen before you apply the background.

Now when you make your section, use the background to "trace" the section.

That's it.
