Motor wiring
Motor wiring
(OP)
I have a single phase 220/240 motor complete with gearbox/magnetic brake. Motor terminal are marked A1, A2, Z1 and Z2.
From what I am able to trace A1 & A2 each have a wire that goes to the motor and brake.
Z1 & Z2 also seem to dissapear somewhere to the motor while Z2 has a starting capacitor in series.
Not being very familiar with electric motors I was wondering how to wire up the existing four core plus earth cable to enable this motor to work?
The reduction gearbox has a 1425/12 ratio, I believe that the unit was originally used for a stairlift.
The manufacturer was Normand Electrical Co. Ltd.
Many thanks in anticipation.

RE: Motor wiring
I now need to control the motor which is continuous rated at 3.4amps.
From what I can make out all I need is a 'Crossover Switch'. I think I can do this using a 250v, 10amp, 3pole resistive relay and two non latching push buttons for safety.
If you know of a simpler method I would appreciate your thoughts.
Many thanks
