Modifing the core voltage of an Intel p3 Xeon

(OP)
Hello!

Has any of you guys knowledge in changing the core voltage of a Intel P3 Xeon from the original 5/12v to 2.8v.

I have an intel p3 Xeon 733 that runs on 5/12v but my PCs motherboard only support 2.8v. Is there any harware modification possible to adjust this on the Processor?

Please let me know.

Thanks in advance!
Darra

RE: Modifing the core voltage of an Intel p3 Xeon

Probably not.  Cores run on the lowest possible voltage due to the higher power dissipation.  If your part is specified to run on 5V, it will not run reliably at any lower voltage
