detailed threads using swept bodies

detailed threads using swept bodies

(OP)
Hi,

I want to create a detailed thread, different from the threads given in UG. My idea was to use swept bodies. I drawed a sketch which represents the thread geometry.
And I wanted to guide the sketch along a helix to create a solid, which can be substracted from a cylinder.

There are two problems.
1.)
Depending on the swept options the section (the sketch) rotates around the guide line(s). [substraction is possible]
2.)
With three guide lines it is possible to create a thread, as I wanted. But in this case, it can't be substracted from the solid (the screw).

Does anybody had a solution for that?
Any help or hint is greatly appreciated.
