Natural Gas Flow Velocity
Natural Gas Flow Velocity
(OP)
Im looking for design std that define natural gas flow velocity in pipeline around 20 m/s. Experts, could you give me a direction to find details about the natural gas velocity must be used to design pipelines and equipments, like scrubbers, filters, heaters, etc? I heard about 20 m/s but can“t find standards or explanation about this figure, why not 30 or 50 m/s??

RE: Natural Gas Flow Velocity
In buried piping, operating above 200 PSI, some references indicate the velocity should not exceed 200 fps (61 m/s), but that probably does not apply in your case.
