Hot Allowable

(OP)
The term "hot allowable" is used in a Autopipe Demo, like a cuestion. How I obtain this date for a material defined?
The material is:
Pipe A-335 deg. P11
Temp: 900 F deg.
Pressure: 850 psig

RE: Hot Allowable

The hot allowable is the allowable stress at the design temperature being analyzed.  This information is available from the applicable Code.

RE: Hot Allowable

I use Caepipe from SST (www.sstusa.com)and A335 Gr. P11 properties are included in their library of materials for B31.1 code.

It is a simple matter to select the Pipe material from the library and all the code properties for that material are automatically used in the stress analysis. (A simple check against the printed code is prudent to confirm the properties were entered into the library correctly.)

If a material is not in the library, you can enter the properties from the code and have them available in the library for all future work.
