Fatal error in drawing start up ?????

Fatal error in drawing start up ?????

(OP)
My problem :

Yesterday i finished my day quick-saving my file in mdt4. Suddenly this morning i couldn't open it. I can open other files with out having any problem.
It has given me two openings.

1.      Exception in acme.arx ARX COMMAND
Unhandled exception c0000005 (access violation reading 0x0000) at adress 56557623h.

I accept ok and my file show up with out the desktop browser. When i try to display the browser it show me:

    Exception in C:\mdt4\desktop\mcadcom.arx ARX COMMAND
Unhandled exception c0000005 (access violation reading 0x0020) at adress 528110b0h.

And when i accept ok the is written in the command line  "ADS request error" and i find my self back looking at my drawing, but i can't do anything in it.

2. (second opening)
    AutoCad error aborting
Fatal error: Unhandled access violation reading 0x0240 exception at 52805544h.

I accept ok and...

    AutoCad error-abort
    Error handler re-entered. Exiting now.

Thereby the complete software program close and i can start all over if i'm in the mood.........

I hope anybody have solved such a problem before or just know how to do it.
Thank you very much.

RE: Fatal error in drawing start up ?????

I'm only on MDT2 but have seen this problem when the model has been saved in an unstable state. - ie. a part has not been updated after its parameters were changed.  This can happen when you don't expect it.

Try loading MDT and typing 'recover'.  Hunt your file and let MDT try and fix it.

Or revert to the autosave drg auto.sv$ by renaming it with a *.dwg extension.

RE: Fatal error in drawing start up ?????

I get an error like that once in awhile (not sure about the exact error.  I can usually fix it by opening an empty file or new file and then go to File...Drawing Utilities...Recover Desktop and the select the file causing the error to open.  It will try to open it and fix any problems.  Recover desktop is specifically for MDT files as opposed to regular autocad files and seems to work more reliably that just "recover".  You might also make sure you have the lastest service packs.  There are probably at least 3 of them for MDT 4.

Good Luck.
