Suggestion: There may be some savings by removing hot spots that can be seen by IR camera. Hot spots generate wasteful heat. It just depends on the electrical power distribution condition. However, it will not be very large savings. The advertised 16% for new power distribution and over 20% on old power distribution is fairly optimistic but feasible. Ultimately, one may like to seek a proof of this over satisfied customers.

Can you really have 15 to 20% I^2R losses at the connections without the connections melting down?  That seems like a lot of heat energy in a small location. To have that much wasted heat, we'd have to have an excessive voltage drop in the circuit.   If I have a 100 amp, 240 volt circuit and they are saving me 20% or 4800 watts, it looks like I'd have to have a 15.5 volt voltage drop in the circuit before they apply their "treatment".

Suggestion to Don: That is if you consider RI**2 losses in series. They could also be in parallel. However, I agree that 20% is somewhat on the optimistic side.
