Could anybody send me a list of symbols being used in Northamerica for generating Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (for wastewater treatment plant). Or could anybody confirm that the symbols are the same like in the european standards?

email: cmoch@umagroup.com
fax: (250) 475-6388

Thanks! Christoph

RE: Standards for P&ID's

There is an ASME/ANSI standard for P&ID symbols.  If you do a Google search or go to the ASME webstie you'll find it.

Thanks!
Pete

RE: Standards for P&ID's

There is a ISA magazine on P&id Symbology.

RE: Standards for P&ID's

Chris73, Go to www.isa.org. Look for Instrumentation Symbols & Identification, ANSI/ISA standard S5.1 latest revision. You can purchase it as either hard copy or in CD format useable in Autocad and other CAD packages.
