MONITOR 6.6KV FEED LINE

MONITOR 6.6KV FEED LINE

MONITOR 6.6KV FEED LINE

(OP)
Hi

I need a "cheap" way to monitor a 6.6kv cable. In other words to know if the voltage is live. On 220v a simple relay would have worked as I only need a yes or no indication. On 6.6kv I assume it is not so simple.
If it can be done with a standard sensor "electromagnetic"
on a armoured cable without any electrical connection so much better.
Any one with any ideas? I dont normally work with HV therfore this elementry question.

Thanks in advance

Rikus Viljoen

RE: MONITOR 6.6KV FEED LINE

An appropriate-ratio/-BIL potential transformer serving an ANSI 27 or 59 relay element has a very good track record, is well understood and made of readily available components.
