Where can I determine the forces associated with wave action?  I need to design a pier foundation in a v-zone (flood zone) and it will require that the piers are certified to withstand wave action.  Is the design based on wave velocity or is there an accepted force from the wave action?

Thanks in advance.

JTPE:
FEMA's Coastal Construction is something you should have in you design library if you do V-Zone foundations. It has a whole chapter (#11) on determining different loading. You can get it at the FEMA Publications Service Center,
(800)480-2520. There is no charge for single copies.

If you need the eq. ASAP send me your Fax # and I get it to you
