Using Hilt Anchor Software

Using Hilt Anchor Software

Using Hilt Anchor Software

(OP)
Hi everyone
Why is it everytime I try the Hilti anchor software, it never works, no anchor bolts are able to withstand the loads! For example, I have to anchor a W310x31 to a concrete wall.
Concrete = 35MPa
first anchor is 182mm from top of wall
width of concrete wall is 300mm
factored Load is 216kN shear (about 160kN unfactored)
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong.?
Thanks to everybody in advance.

RE: Using Hilt Anchor Software

Hi, civeng.

You didn't mention no. bolts, spacing, or concrete depth.  Those all need to be specified in the HILTI program.  Have you speceified all those?

If you have, one or more of them might be causing that report by the program.

Also, have you somehow unslected all the possible anchors, or maybe limited yourself to some sizes, none of which work for your load case?

regards,

chichuck
