RE: AFBMA Bearing number interchange
SKF also uses a numbering system similar to several others.
As an example, AFBMA number 65BC03 cross references to SKF catalog number 6313 as follows:
1st 2 digits (65) in the AFBMA number is bore diameter in millimeters. Last 2 digits (13) in the catalog is bore diameter in millimeters divided by 5.
3 and 4th characters (BC) in the AFBMA number is type of bearing. BC stands for Conrad bearing. The first character (6) in catalog number identifies type of bearing (6 means Conrad).
5&6 characters in the AFMBA number is the dimension series. 02 is light duty (03 would be medium duty, 04 would be heavy duty). The 2nd character (2) in the catalog number identifies the dimension series. In this case catalog number uses the same character as AFBMA but only one character instead of 2 (2 instead of 02).
