Embedding a simple XCEL Spreadsheet in a drawing...
(OP)
Back in r-12 (Win-3.11/WG) and again at another assignment using r-14 (Win-98), I was able to embed an OLE XCEL spreadsheet object DIRECTLY into the drawing, adjust the printing otions to basict line-art, and edit, update, and print the results right with the linework of the drawing all as if they were all together as a single document. That was one of the main benefits of doing this.
I attempted the same thing today in r-2002(Win-NT4.0/sp-6) and couldn't get it to work. Any suggestions?
Thanks-

Could it be that the file has some variable turned off or on?
Try another file as see if that works. If so, then I would "wblock" you work out into a clean file and then try to Excel file agian.
Hope that works!
Sorry in advance if it's no dice!

Thanks for trying. I may indeed be dealing with an improper installation of XCEL, as our entire I.T. staff consists of ONE marginally prepared technician who convinced management that she knew more about "computers" than they did. I've been having serious reliability problems with my entire MS-Office suite since I arrived, and have only recently learned that she tried moving my Suite to the larger drive on my PC by moving the Office directory. Whew! I was hoping we could find a clue out here. My boss is a great guy to work for, and I'm trying to combine some B.O.M. issues with cost , deliverability and lead time issues, right inside the 3D layout I'm doing for him of a pet project he's hoping to present to management. Oh well.
Sincerely, Thanks for everything!

There are known limitations to some OLE systems. Check out HELP->OLE and look for "Known Limitations..." and/or "ODBC" and/or "OLE DB"
