Issue with Launching ProE

Issue with Launching ProE

Issue with Launching ProE

(OP)
I have been having this problem for a while, but I can't seem to fix it.  It first started when I started the license server and it began to consume system resources.  It started a dozen or so files named ptc_d.  I restarted the computer and tried to restart Pro/E and nothing happened the license server would start but would not launch the file ptc_d.exe, so naturally Pro/E didn't start.  I called our IT department who fixed  it, but could not or would not explain how they did it.  Since this is a reoccurring problem I would like to know what is going on so I don’t have to wait on IT.  Any help would be great.

System:
Win 2000
1 Gig Ram
2 P4 1.4GHz

RE: Issue with Launching ProE

You first can try looking in start/set up/control panel/FLEXlm license manager
you must have only one server daemon for proe

pascual,

Thanks for the help, but could you give me a little more detail on this I'm not realy up to speed on the licence manager yet.

Thanks

RE: Issue with Launching ProE

in the FLEXlm license manager:
in the tab tap: you can start, stop and get the status of one server
in the setup tap: change the parameters of a server. In service name you can select the server to modify. And you have a remove button to erase the selected server. I thought if you have more than one server you must delete all of them but one.
...

this is the first thing you could try. I cannot explain you in detail all options but this is the "intuitive" explanation.

Thanks again for then help.  Yesterday I was "lucky" to have the problem again.  I tried your suggestion but that didn't help.  Thanks again
