Stainless Steel Torque Tables
Stainless Steel Torque Tables
(OP)
My Designs require 304SS or 316SS fasteners in the 1/2-13 to 1.25-7 range. Does anyone know of any published or listed recomended torque tables for stainless steel?

RE: Stainless Steel Torque Tables
Be careful using torque tables on 304 or 316 stainless fasteners - lot of variables exist that can make a difference. Number of sites carry these same numbers, but none document their source.
RE: Stainless Steel Torque Tables
I have found these mystery tables you speak of but I was looking for the source also.
Thanks again.
RE: Stainless Steel Torque Tables
You might be better off working out the torques yourself. It is very easy to generate torque tables with a spreadsheet, and very difficult to find consistent allowable stresses for work hardening materials like 304/316SS. I have seen yield stresses quoted as low as 55KSI for stainless steel cap screws.
